09/10/2025Over the past year, our Events Team has been on the move all over the UK, collaborating with local authorities, schools, parish councils and community groups to deliver a wide range of off-road cycling projects. From urban parks in Camden to rural villages in Scotland, we’ve proudly delivered over 50 events, each one tailored to inspire and engage riders of all ages and abilities.
When our Events team run these projects, we have a strong feeling that everyone is having a great time, generally speaking there is always a very positive vibe in the air. That’s what we want. But we wanted to hear from the funders and people who booked us in the first place, what are their thoughts.
“Over 200 people attended Appleby’s pop-up pump track event organised by the Dirt Factory Events Team. Young and old had a fabulous time and our online survey so far has had 172 people saying they’d like to see a permanent track in the town. Our next step is to form a working group to look at how we can make this happen.” Clerk, Appleby Town Council
“We had great feedback from the pump track event and we would like to discuss options for a temporary pump track for a week next summer. We would like one bigger than the one we had this year. We are also looking into land and budget for a permanent track”. A. Fletcher, Community and Tourism Manager, East Grinstead Town Council
It was absolutely fantastic, thank you, they had a great time. Hayley Newman, Police Community Support Officer 5387, Kendal NPT
“Everyone had an absolute ball! Thank you so much again”. C. Lund, Principal Teacher, Croftmalloch Primary School
“The event was really well received by guests – big thanks to the team for delivering the sessions on the ground”. Stretch Communications, organisers of Sky TV staff event.
“The pump track went down a storm once again“. K. Bell, Community Development Officer, Safe and Strong Communities, Thriving Communities, Westmorland and Furness Council
A Flexible Solution with Big Impact
Central to our community outreach is the Dirt Factory modular pump track and skills equipment. These portable, high quality features allow us to create dynamic cycling environments in virtually any location. This year, we’ve taken things a step further by working more closely with our Trail Services Team. This collaboration has enabled us to offer extended 1-2 week hires of our modular pump track, giving communities the chance to experience the track, explore its benefits and provide valuable feedback.
This trial based approach has proven to be a powerful tool for engagement. It allows local stakeholders to assess the impact of a pump track before committing to a permanent installation. And the results speak volumes: in 9 out of 10 cases, our modular pump track has exceeded expectations, delivering overwhelmingly positive experiences for users and the wider community.
Building Momentum for the Future
Our team is passionate about making cycling more accessible, exciting and inclusive for everyone. Whether it’s a one day activation or a multi-week trial, our goal remains the same: to inspire, educate, and create lasting impact through off-road cycling.
