Back between the tapes… Peaty’s Steel City DH
19/04/2016Crowd fund campaign
If you haven’t already heard, our crowd fund campaign has now finished and was a great success. The Dirt Factory wheels are well and truly in motion and we are now fully funded through the support of over 500 investors. The assistance we had from our supporters throughout our crowd fund was amazing and we would like to thank you if you supported the campaign in any way.
Premises
Our main focus now is on securing the best possible premises for Dirt Factory. As well as venues identified prior to our crowd fund campaign, we have gone back out to the market to see what new premises are available. Throughout March we viewed other locations and have more viewings to make over the next few weeks.
Location, location
Location, accessibility, size, height, structural integrity, security, neighbours and of course price are all key considerations of the premises we choose. Whilst we know we need to move fast, we believe that investing a little more time will enable us to secure a venue that will deliver a truly great indoor bike park.
Alongside our search for premises we are working on building partnerships with a range of organisations. These include cycling and mountain bike brands, service providers, suppliers, community organisations and educational institutes. We recently announced a collaboration with WeRide and will be announcing more partnerships over the coming weeks.
The race season is upon us and Dirt Factory sponsored riders have started the year in top gear. A massive congratulations to One Vision Global Racing rider James ‘Jimmy Turnburst’ Hurst for taking his first Expert win at the British Downhill Series in Scotland and to Bex Baraona for finishing 12th in the Argentina round of the Enduro World Series. If you are racing this year, best of luck for the coming months.
I will be racing at Peaty’s Steel City DH on Saturday 16 April. If you’re coming along to race or spectate then be sure to look out for the Dirt Factory t-shirt or hoody and come and say hello.
Here’s to happy trails, spring riding and more Dirt Factory progress.
Thanks for reading and very best wishes,
Dan and the team
