New MTB Trail Build: Healy Nab

Around a decade ago, a modular pumptrack made its way to a community park in Briston, Norfolk, installed to provide young people and local riders a fun and active space to enjoy on bikes, scooters and skateboards. Fast forward ten years, and it’s still one of the most popular features in the area, buzzing with energy after school, packed on weekends and absolutely thriving during the holidays.
That’s why when Briston Parish Council reached out to the Dirt Factory team, we were more than happy to help breathe new life into a much loved community asset.

The council made it clear from the start that this pump track was staying put. Despite its age and signs of wear and tear, replacing it simply wasn’t an option. The community had embraced it fully and its popularity was proof of the positive impact it continues to make.
When we arrived on site, it was clear that the track hadn’t been given the best start. Originally installed by another contractor, the setup had some flaws that left it exposed to the elements over the years. But challenges like these are exactly what our Trail Services team thrives on.
Over the course of four days, our team got to work:
- Deep cleaning the entire track to remove years of grime and buildup.
- Repairing surface damage to restore the smooth flow riders love.
- Improving the appearance of the side panels to give the track a cleaner, more professional finish.
- Repainting the surface using a durable, anti-slip coating – in a bold, eye catching blue, of course.
As with any refurbishment, there were a few surprises along the way, but that’s all part of the job. Now, with a refreshed look and a solid structure, the Briston pumptrack is ready for many more years of riding and community fun. It’s a shining example of how a smart investment in outdoor recreation can pay off long-term, encouraging active lifestyles and bringing people together in a shared space.
We’re proud to have played a part in giving this pumptrack a new lease on life.
