Tameside MTB Trail Plans
04/11/2016Get ready for winter riding
22/11/2016On Wednesday 16 November we held our first Dirt Factory shareholder meeting. This was an opportunity to provide a personal update to the people who pledged their support and invested in the Dirt Factory crowdfund.
Shareholder meeting
It was great to meet some of the people who share our passion and want to see the Dirt Factory doors open. The meeting covered our search for premises, partnerships, a talk from Dirt Factory shareholder and professional mountain bike racer Jack Reading, a financial update and Q&A session.
Questions and answers
Here are some of the questions we were asked on the night and prior to the meeting. We have provided a brief answer to each and hope they give you more insight into where we’re at.
Why are you not open? We have not found the right building at the right terms just yet, plus we have been beaten to a few different sites. We could have agreed some deals but that would not have been sustainable for the business. We are working to ensure the building and lease will work for us.
How long will you carry on looking for a premises? Until we have found the right building. We have dedicated a lot of time and achieved some amazing milestones starting the business and the team are motivated to carry it through.
Could you buy land and build a big shed? This is an option and currently being looked at with council owned land in Greater Manchester. However this is a longer term strategy.
Do you have an updated date for the facility to open? We would like to be open in 2017.
Can you get season passes? Yes we plan to offer weekend, weekly, monthly and annual subscriptions.
Can I bring my own bike? Of course you can.
Rest assured that we are doing all we can to secure a suitable premises as soon as possible and this is our priority each day. As ever, we will continue to provide you with regular updates on our blog and social media channels.
Thanks as ever for your support, all the best,
Dan and the Dirt Factory team
