31/08/2018Off the scale – Ard Rock Enduro
The Dirt Factory crew have just returned from this year’s Ard Rock Enduro Festival in north Yorkshire. What a belting weekend it was. We can see why Ard Rock Enduro sells out in 30 minutes, the setting was beautiful, dusty trails, music, beer and…
Well, the Dirt Factory air bag and pump track were set up and free to use to all festival goers, racers and families. With 20,000 visitors across the weekend both the air bag and pump track were two very popular activities. In total we recorded well over three hundred individual riders either practicing their jump technique or pump track skills. The total usage including all the repeat visits would be off the scale.
On Friday and Saturday Dirt Factory team members recorded lap times for people who wanted to see how fast their rubber went around the pump track. Prizes were available for the top 3 fastest times for five age categories from balance bikes to elite.
The Saturday night entertainment was a pump track battle show down by the eight fastest elite times set. It was a classic cat and mouse race format which saw the crowd go wild. Congratulations to Jono Jones who ended up the final winner after a little semi-final controversy against Duncan Ferris, a fair winner in the end.
Well done and a huge thank you to all the people, kids, parents and Dirt Factory supporters for coming to say hi and having fun with us.
The Dirt Factory team will be back next year either racing or providing pump track and air bag services.
Until next year Ard Rock.
