Who inspires you? Yoann Barelli, the dude puts so much effort into caring for the environment, doesn’t care what others think of him, and he’s pretty sick on a bike.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you have not been, where would you go? Has to be either Whistler or New Zealand, the riding out there looks insane.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? You’d never guess but I spend most of my free time riding my bike. As well as riding for fun I also enjoy getting between the tapes. I race most of the Welsh Enduro Series every year as well as the Tweedlove races up in Scotland.

Who inspires you? Trey Jones, His completely unique style, DIY attitude and early 2000’s mid school vibe really takes me back to when i first started riding BMX. Every video i see with him makes me want to get out and ride.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you have not been, where would you go? I’d love to go to Colorado to watch the Pikes Peak international hill climb. I could spend months walking/riding/exploring the rocky mountains.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? Music is and always has been a big part of my life, I play guitar and have played in various bands over the past 15 years. I really enjoy photography, whether it be landscapes, sports or just pictures of my dog. Last but not least I ride bikes, doesn’t matter what kind of bikes I just enjoy pedaling.
Name: Hi I’m Ben Yates
Company Position: Operations Assistant
Role at Dirt Factory: I’m here to ensure all customers get track time safely and with the right equipment. I also monitor equipment like the air bag and I am also your announcer/DJ.
Current Bike/Bikes: My first and current bike is a Trek Remedy 8 and I’m well aware I punched above my weight for a first bike but I wanted a bike that would encourage me to go further and faster into my mtb journey. Its worked out well as my favourite trails are well suited to a full suspension bike with a beginner on the seat.
Favourite Trail: Its tough to answer this as I haven’t hit a huge variety of trails yet. Just whats available in my local area. But the trails I’ve enjoyed the most have all involved a huge climb/push up rewarded with a fast and winding descent over different surface types.
Who inspires you? Cheesy I know but I’ve always been inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger and his positive mental attitude, dedication and self belief all of which he credits for his success.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you have not been, where would you go? Antarctica. I love cold weather, penguins, mountains and my personal space so it checks all 4 boxes.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? As well as getting to know my new bike I’m a huge movie buff usually visiting the cinema once a week often more. I’m also a big gamer and love posting clips of my wins or fails. Mostly fails.
