Our Visit to Holland’s Indoor MTB Park

During a recent holiday with my family in the Netherlands, we spent an evening catching up with friends and sharing stories. At one point, I casually mentioned, “Did you know that Holland has an indoor bike park?” To my surprise, our friends, not being avid bikers themselves, had no idea. However, Stefan, who had married our friend, mentioned that his brother was an enthusiastic mountain biker. “Let me find out where it is,” he said, and to our amazement, we discovered that the indoor bike park was only a half-hour drive away.

Excited, I immediately shared the news with the missus, and we decided to visit the next day. It seemed like a perfect family activity that would also entertain the kids. Upon arrival, we peered through a massive wooden door, initially feeling it might be closing. However, the welcoming owners kindly gave us a tour despite the late hour. They even invited us back the next day for a proper visit and ride, which was fantastic.

The owners shared that Dirt Factory had been a significant inspiration for them in creating their family-oriented bike park. I can wholeheartedly reciprocate that sentiment. The Indoor Bike Park was an incredible experience, run by amazing people, and it was heartening to see the place bustling with activity. The former greenhouse had been cleverly transformed into a space filled with fun and flowy trails, despite the limited headroom. My kids absolutely loved it.
