For the first time in ten years the Cycle show returned to the Alexandra Palace down in the big smoke, another awesome setting following a decade of shows at the NEC, Birmingham.
The show was open to the public Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and there were plenty to feast the eyes on. Almost anything to do with cycling was on display whether that be mountain biking, gravel bikes, cargo bikes, e-bikes, clothing, bike racks and fancy bike gadgets. The icing on the ‘Cake Bike’ was provided by plenty of topical Q & A’s, workshops and Professional MTB athletes doing signing sessions such as Matt Jones, Olly Wilkins, Greg Minnaar, Martin Ashton and Hans Rey. If you’re not sure who any of those names are, just drop one into YouTube and prepare to be amazed, just keep an eye on the time, you could be there for a few hours.
That’s not all folks. The Dirt Factory modular pump track was the cherry on top which and was setup for the entire show. Our events team welcomed over 250 riders and the odd couple of scooters and skateboards too which was rad to see. Like all the other pump tracks events we find ourselves at, the pump track seems to be a magnet for all ages and abilities, and once people try it, you can’t get them off it.
As always it was fantastic to meet lots of new people and talk about the Dirt Factory mission, and of course it was fun to ride some bikes and meet a few legends of the sport while we’re at it.
The London Cycle Show 2023 has already been announced, so hopefully we will see you again next year.
