A Fresh New Ride for Bury’s Mountain Bike Community
27/04/2026
Last week our modular pump track rolled into Sedbergh for a three day pop‑up installation — and the response from the local community was incredible.
From the moment the first rollers were bolted together, riders of all ages started gathering around to see what was happening. Once the track opened, it didn’t take long before it was buzzing with activity. Kids on balance bikes finding their flow, teenagers pushing for speed, parents giving it a go and even a few seasoned riders showing off smooth, effortless laps.
Across the three days, we saw a steady stream of smiling faces and heard a lot of positive feedback. Riders loved how accessible the track was, how quickly they could build confidence and how fun it was to challenge themselves on something a bit different. Several locals commented that Sedbergh needs more facilities like this and many asked when the track would be coming back.
Pop‑up pump tracks are designed to bring communities together, get people active and create instant excitement — and Sedbergh absolutely delivered on all three. A huge thank you to everyone who came down, shared feedback and helped make the event such a success.
Here is what some of the young people had to say about the Pump Track:
‘I really enjoyed the weekend the pump track was in Sedbergh, I was there every day, mostly all day with my mates. I really hope we get a permanent one’
Harrison Hatfield – age 11
‘I have loved having the pump track in town, it’s been awesome and a great place to hang out with my mates. I hope we can have one all the time!’
Stanley Parkin- age 11
‘The pump track was so much fun! It is a good way to keep fit. There were tons of people there who you would not have met before and lots of different ages all having fun together. It was a great way to get out of the house. I think it would be amazing if you could do that all the time not just for a few days.’
Jess Norman- age 13
‘The pump track was amazing! It is a great place to meet my friends while keeping active. Everyone was there from people on balance bikes all the way up to teen’s. It was awesome how everyone could connect over riding a bike. We would love to have a pump track in Sedbergh. It would be a dream come true.‘
William Goligher- age 12
