Balance Bikes Are Go

Here are a few photographs taken by Wigan Be Well for a balance bike activity the Dirt Factory team delivered at this year’s Cycle Three Sisters event. The event wasn’t just about balance bikes but a gathering to promote cycling, road safety and keeping active. So, there were plenty of road bikes, mountain bikes, adapted bikes, electric bikes and balance bikes, you name it, that bike was there. There were even bikes to borrow if you didn’t have one.

The event ran 3:30pm – 7:30pm on a Thursday, which made it easier for people to attend after work and school. The Dirt Factory pump track was used by 82 young cyclists (under-fives) and as always it was fantastic to see lots of smiles and progression in our young cyclist. The modular pump track is a real confidence booster and helps people hone their bike control much faster whether you’re a balance bike rider or adult rider.

Our team was honoured to be part of another joyful event celebrating cycling. Over 600 people attended the event and Wigan Council will be running Cycle Three Sisters again next year, so keep an out if you enjoy or are interested in cycling. There is lots to see and do, including riding around the race circuit.
