From April through to September, Dirt Factory will be providing free bike activities in partnership with Mossley Sports Forum and the Big Lottery Fund.
We are proud to offer something a little different for the Salford community and it is extremely rewarding to see so many young people get enthused about how the track looks feels and rides.
Over 60 school pupils brought their own bikes, learnt pump track skills and received a free bike lock from GMP, in addition each bike was added to the police bike register.
Over the May half term Dirt Factory collaborated with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation (RFF) and Walkden Town Centre to deliver a free community pop-up indoor biking project. The aim was to engage young people aged between 11-25 in positive physical activities.
We teach key bike skills, show pupils how to check and maintain their bikes, signpost them to existing cycle networks and bike parks around Greater Manchester and promote a fun and healthy living.
It was great to see more than 80 riders enjoy what we had to offer. All ages and abilities got involved – many of them experiencing a pump track and airbag for the first time.
