Bikes have never featured at the Mossley Light Festival before, especially ones with lots of flashy lights attached to them. So we reached out to the Mossley community to see who would be interested in taking part in a Dirt Factory light workshop to decorate bikes and helmets.
The project outcomes were to get more 8 to 16 year olds active by creating a positivity pathway into sport. The project was purposely delivered during the school holidays to counter young people staying indoors or otherwise getting involved in mischief.
The Dirt Factory air bag and pump track were set up and free to use to all festival goers, racers and families. With 20,000 visitors across the weekend both the air bag and pump track were two very popular activities.
The Dirt Factory pump track made its way from Manchester to Oxfordshire over the weekend to take part in the cycling festivities at the 2018 Wallingford Festival of Cycling.
